The Road Goes On and On

1/21/2009

First Entry into the blogosphere!

Today is a mixed bag of feelings; elated at the election and swearing in of our new President Barack Obama, also fearful as I watch the number of jobless continue to climb. I fear for my job and ability to provide for my family. I would like to be in control of my path instead of being at it's mercy. I pray that I will be able to continue with that support by making a life changing decision; to write and create!

My current career is at odds with who I am. It pays the bills (sort of!) and is a steady paycheck. However, it does little to inspire creativity, more like stunting it, which makes this venture harder and I know that I have to commit to it. I have experienced what it is like when your company sells out and your job goes away. I feel it coming again in my current position. It's a feeling, no more at this point but it's a very familiar feeling that does make me consider my future on this planet, and what I have to offer.

I have sworn, if this job goes away too that I will become a full time comedian/writer. No one can take that away from me. So here goes. I'll have to see where this blog takes me. It comes with no particular direction other than forward, hopefully with wonderful side trips along the way.

As Bilbo sang, stepping out of his front door onto the path to who knows where;

Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains of the moon.
Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star,
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.

  4. Thanks guys. Sorry things have been slow in coming. I have to compete with two other computer users here for access as well as when it isn't raining, I'm outside trying to get control of the yard before it warms up and gets away from me!

    Please keep checking back. More posts are a guarantee.
