Moment of Prayer

Dear Lord, I need your help.

Please ease my pain that tears at me when I see my daughter struggle to find a friend. She could really use one. She really deserves one. You know her. You know that she'd make the best friend if given the chance. She has so much to offer and is a good kid too. What does it take for her to find one? It's not like she hasn't tried. Everyone deserves to have at least one good friend you can rely on. Wouldn't you agree?

It's not like I haven't noticed. The pain in her eyes makes it impossible to ingore. Her mother and I try to fill the gigantic void in her heart but it's not enough. There's only so much we can do. She's missing out not having someone her own age to confide in, to share things, to enjoy each other's company. Someone other than Mom or Dad.

Please God, there's nothing else in this world that I want more than to see my daughter happy. She usually is, but she's also very lonely and sad. She needs a good friend. Not everyone can be as we are reminded quite often.

But there has to be somebody out there that needs one too.

AMEN

  2. You're welcome Eve. We've come so far but there's still quite a ways to go yet.

    There's so many things people take for granted these days;

    ~A roof over your head
    ~Food on the table
    ~Safe place to live and grow
    ~A friend to share it all with

    I don't think I'm asking for too much here. Yet it seems like a monumental task.

  4. Gia -

    Thank you, it's very good (and needed) to hear those things. I really appreciate it because there are days when I feel like the worst dad in the world because I can't ease her pain. Life is tough enough. I couldn't imagine it without the support and understanding of those close to us.

    Thank God our families have recently discovered each other. We are most grateful.

    PS - We got Jaida's cards in the mail - talk about SWEET! Please give that sweetheart a big hug from Uncle Bill! (and some "pinchers" to Jax!)
